WEDDING TRENDS: 3D PROJECTION OR VIDEO MAPPING

Whether it’s chic chandeliers, fun outdoor lighting with café lights, an ambiance set by candlelight, or gobo lights with custom monograms, everyone searches for unique lighting!This year, we’d like to share the newest trend using video mapping or 3D projection mapping at your wedding or next event… Think Katy Perry’s Super Bowl stage!

It sounds like something used in architecture or some large scale planning project, but video mapping (also known as projection mapping, 3D mapping or any combination of the three) is actually something much more exciting! Last year, Disney Weddings revealed wedding cakes that are projection mapped by Disney Fairytale Weddings. Essentially, using 3Dprojection mapping, your wedding cake becomes an edible piece of interactive art!

This year, projection mapping is expanding to your entire venue! Your reception can transform into a world of awe with the use of lights. If you wanted an outdoor wedding, but were worried about the weather, 3D projection mapping can give you the ability to take a wall and turn it into anything you want. From a starry night, to a forest, to a glistening ocean – the possibilities are endless!

Just how endless you ask? Well how about the Super Bowl?! We LOVED Katy Perry‘s performance! With the use of videomapping,the field was completely transformed with a large lion puppet and checkard dance floor, beach scene, and fireworks show in just 15 minutes!
