Tales of A Bridesmaid: The Candy Bar!

Remember “Bride to Be” who ran the LA marathon? Recently, she walked down the aisle and is now a Mrs! She looked beautiful in a princess ball gown, her Prince Charming looked handsome, the country club where it was held was nicely decorated and you should have seen the center pieces. While the guests danced the night away to a mix of Top 40 hits and songs that got her grandma on the floor – I must focus on a very large wedding trend that I hope never goes away.

The CANDY BAR!!!! You walked into the room, placed the gift on the gifts table and there it was. Apothecary jars full of delicious candy just waiting for me to take a bag and load it up. Platters of different flavored licorice ready for me to take a bite. Candy bars have been a long running trend in the wedding world. Many people now offer them in lieu of favors and let me tell you… I LOVE it! I know, I know, many opt for mini wine bottles, candles, picture frames and various chocolates but nothing says Thank you for coming better than a candy bar! It’s like having your very own Sweet Factory for your guests!

Our Bride boasted about her amazing candy bar and she was right! With green and pink candies to match her wedding colors. She had the good stuff! I’m talking about apple O’s, strawberry licorice, sour watermelon candy and so much more! It wasn’t that typical candy that comes in mass bags for a discounted price that tastes like cardboard. She had the best candy.

I know that this is an added cost for many brides but when you’re giving gifts to your guests. Think about the practicality of it. Why not do fun treats like this for your guests or cake pops? And if you really have no idea, giving to charity is also another great gift that you can give. Simply add a note and let your guests know that you donated on their behalf. No matter what, most guests will enjoy what you give them but that candy bar definitely topped my list of favorite gifts and for others as well. Because the candy bar was completely empty before the night even ended.

Until next time my friends,

S.
